Meet Rebecca.Math, physics & chemistry tutor

Rebecca is a true gem! She has been working with our granddaughter for three years. She now loves math and her success and confidence has transferred onto other subjects. Rebecca is a master teacher who makes learning exciting!

Rebecca is a gem. My picky daughter learns her very best from her. I am beyond grateful for Rebecca and her flexibility, patience and teaching.

Rebecca was relatable to my student and excelled in bringing their math skills up to speed with math. She has instilled the confidence in they needed to succeed.

My teen has been working with Rebecca and we have been thrilled with the progress we’ve seen. Teaching math is about more than just knowledge. It’s also about being able to connect with a student so that the student is interested in the subject. Rebecca is energetic, kind, inspiring, and simply a lovely person. My teen NEVER complains when I say that it’s time for math tutoring. I think that says it all!

Rebecca has been a great tutor for my daughter. She has made great progress thanks to Rebecca’s coaching and support.

Rebecca is smart, unfailingly kind, reliable, and relatable. My teen loved her tutoring sessions with Rebecca. She knows her stuff and really helps kids when they need it most.

We have had an exemplary experience with Alexander Tutoring. My son, Nate, has told me that Rebecca Malas (Chemistry) was able to connect to his visual way of learning. James Magnatta (Pre Calculus) was excellent at breaking down confusing concepts to make them comprehensible. Jill, the "Mission Control Specialist", is always warm, accessible, helpful and easy to work with. Call Alexander if your child needs help. You will not be disappointed.

My daughter’s self-confidence was really at a low ebb in chemistry and math, and it showed in her grades and teacher comments. Rebecca was an amazing tutor and really got her focus and study skills sharpened in a very short period of time. I would say this tutoring service is on the pricey side, but absolutely worth it.

My 8th grader was so demoralized about math before working with Rebecca. In addition to identifying and targeting her areas of struggle with the school material, Rebecca also worked hard to dismantle my daughter’s math anxiety and shame. She built a ton of trust and managed to really connect with a teen who until then had been doing her best to hide her deficits, racing through material too fast, pretending not to care, or shrugging it off as "I guess I just suck at math." Together they worked to fill the gaps left after struggling through the pandemic and remote classes, and get my daughter excited about the subject again. She brought her grade from a C to an A, but more importantly, she’s not embarrassed to ask for help anymore. Rebecca is a game-changer. We’ve also really utilized the skills videos and progress reports provided in addition to tutoring.

Alexander Physics and Math Tutoring has been a fantastic partner to us for two of our kids in high school physics and middle school math. Both kids agree the extra help and attention on their school material made a big difference, because the tutors who took the time to get to know them and how they best learn. We saw the results in their test results and, more importantly, in their positive attitudes toward these subjects that had previously caused them stress. Special kudos for Rebecca and Gerald!

My daughter had a great time working with Rebecca. She gained more confidence in math during the last semester. I really appreciate Rebecca’s patience. Periodical progress report helped me to track performance and problems. I enjoyed working with her and recommend her to anyone who needs math tutoring.

Rebecca has been doing a great job building up my high-school aged daughter’s confidence in her math abilities. She’s doing great at school and seems to be liking math for the first time. They hit it off immediately!

Alexander tutoring is the whole 9 yards in terms of providing student-centered tutoring for physics and math. Starting from making the right student to tutor match by considering personality and learning styles and focusing on the foundational concepts that establish cumulative learning. Our experience with Alexander Tutoring has been nothing short of excellent. In addition to understanding both physics and calculus concepts that have resulted in improved grades (an A in physics!), my daughter has gained a new found confidence and joy that comes from learning and comprehension. I can’t say enough about the individuals on the Alexander Tutoring team who make this possible every week! Thank you Rebecca (physics) Gerard (calculus), Sean and Jill!
